Black Friday is a scam. Boycott Black Friday is Cleo's annual campaign (running on organic social and in the app) that encourages our audience to sit out the sales and save instead.
This campaign ran for the week before Black Friday to hype our audience up on their savings potential, while also educating them on the strategy companies use during Black Friday. The goal of this campaign was to educate our followers, and highlight the savings features in the Cleo app.
Black Friday deals are tempting, and we get it. During Black Friday itself, we created an ad for "100% off" that encouraged viewers to save their money and download Cleo for free. We offered a giveaway of $500 for anyone who downloaded the Cleo app and typed "Boycott Black Friday" into the chat.
The results of this campaign were high Social Media engagement, Ad conversions, and outstanding CRM performance.
